About Fire Station 1 Restaurant

The Fire Station 1 Restaurant and Brewing Company is proud to be locally owned and operated in the original location of the first firehouse in Silver Spring, MD. Retired firefighter Jeremy Gruber began his firefighting and EMS career at Fire Station 1 and nearly a quarter of a century later he's the proud owner of the newly renovated family friendly Restaurant and event complex.

The Fire station features many menu items prepared from scratch daily including our fresh dough pizzas which are then cooked in our stone oven. Our chefs can create most items from scratch to meet gluten free or other dietary dining needs. Our wonderful selection of craft beers is created locally at several breweries including Red Brick Station. We use local fresh vegetables whenever in season and have a number of vegetarian menu options. We feature freshly baked products daily from Lyon and Ottenberg bakeries and all our meat is certified Angus beef for exceptional quality. Our savory ice cream comes from Silver Spring area favorites Gifford's and Great Falls. Maryland favorite Old Bay spice gives character to our wing selections and adds a dash of flavor to our homemade potato chips created in house daily. We also proudly feature a microwave free kitchen!

Inside we are an eco friendly facility as recognized by the State of Maryland. Our floors are made of bamboo and the low voltage LED lighting is state of the art. Our overall commitment to the environment also includes recycled take out products. We feature the largest outdoor restaurant patio space in Silver Spring we also provide Free WIFI so you can stay connected.
